New Doctor, New Plan... or Lack Thereof

Yesterday we met with Dr. Zoneriach at Advanced Fertility Care. I noticed two things right off- 1. the office is swanky but classy with a kick booty drink station, 2. he is so friendly!!! I loved the office, loved the staff. It wasn't creepy quiet but it was calm with upbeat music playing. So... here is the lowdown: babies might not be in our future. Maybe I'm a little over-dramatic in saying that, but really, its possible. Dr. Z went over all of my charts and turns out everyone else has failed to mention that my AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) is low. It is a good indicator of how many eggs are left... and my being on the low low low end of sort-of normal (the lowest normal value is 2.0 and I'm 2.2 while a normal 28 year old should be around oh.. between 20 and 50. What this means is that it is possible that I could develop premature ovarian failure... early menopause. Doesn't that sound like fun? He discussed IUI with us, but because we really have no clear markers indicating why we aren't pregnant it won't increase our chances at all. We need to go straight to IVF. The cost is around $15,000 for one shot. Yeah.... not something I just have laying around. And we have our house, car and timeshare all financed so getting a loan isn't going to be easy either.

We don't have a plan really, other than "save up and do IVF sometime as soon as possible." I was pretty upset by the news, I was hoping for "Oh! This is an easy fix!" According to Dr. Z we have tried every "easy" fix possible. I'm trying to figure out which of the things we have tried could ever be called easy. I'm kind of down so forgive my sarcasm here. Any how, that is our newest news. I will update with a more solid plan when I get one. In the mean time, we will be planning fundraisers and selling t-shirts as well as starting a GoFundMe page which we hope everyone can at least share with their friends. Every little bit counts.
